FOLLY BEACH, SC.
1995, this building is the entrance to the fishing pier and provides a store, a
restaurant, and public restrooms for clients.
The pier building is a one- story structure elevated about fourteen feet over grade to the height of the pier. The building is cut in two by an entrance breezeway leading the eye directly to the pier beyond. On either side of this entrance, the building's walls are cut at an angle to make the breezeway more prominent. A masonry stair leads up to a landing at the breezeway, with a flight of wood steps up to the pier level. At this point there is a dramatic view over the pier and the ocean.
Completed: 1995 Const. Cost: $ 900,000
